this image shows you the part i need, when tryign to undo, the nut wont turn any futher, and the ball in that socket keeps turning. so i need a new one i guess, unless there is an obvious solution.

ive tried usign a jack under it to take the strain, but the nut doesnt fancy shifting, used some ultra 2040 or what ever (like wd40) some penetration oil.

im annoyed with this, as well as not being able to fit my bloody clutch cable ( the grommit from the be3 is too big to fit into the bulk head, and its a c**t of a job to do with the engine in the way. my fat arms barely fit past the engine and bulkhead as it is, let alone dopwn behind the bastard to put a gromit in. will be dremmeling the hole slightly bigger soon enough.

i ordered 2 new ones from my local motor factors one for each side. they gave me suspension stabalisers, duh what? they will be goign back tomorrow.

waited 2 weeks for peugeot to order me a accellerator cable for a 405 mi16 k reg. been told its now on further back order, untill 31st of july. what the f..... i just bought a 405 cable from ebay, £3 and have already fitted it and it works fine. peugeot told me £28 for mine. will be paying them a visit tomorrow morning.

the clutch pedal at peugeot was only £26, then the guy sniggered at me and said, "you'd be lucky to get one mate" curious i asked why, he told me that even though they still make them, hes never had one come through first time that he has ordered, they always send the wrong ones. so bollox to it, i am goign to adapt my current pedal for the time being.

and finally, the drive shaft... have to resit my driveshaft as it is about |-----------| too far out of its place in the bearings. balls.

after lending my friend a fuel pump to get his car started, as he assured me he "had one in the post for his own car", i find out he had butchered the one i _lent_ him, and bought me some peice of crap from a scrap yard, which when i tested it, didnt work. it only took him 5 weeks to get me a pump that didnt work. current anger level is at 4/10.

then after a trip to a local rallying shop, only to have the bloek tell me he doesnt know what the size "braided fuel line" to go from the fuel filter to the fuel rail is, which in fairness is my own fault, but still wound me up even further. need to go back to get some however. +1 anger

then i go back to peugeot to price up a rad. £150 odd. he laughed. motor factors did me one for £59, wrong one.

basically, ive had more bad news than i could handle today, especially when i went to the petrol garage to fill my runabout, a 1600 megane, to find that there was a 45 min que, as they only had 2 pumps. 116.9 p/ltr tho.

sorry for the poor grammar, but i am so tired and fecked off, i nearly sent my 205 to scrap at about 4pm today. but glad i didnt now.

french cars, who needs them...

Dan.

205's are great fun to work on aren't they!! :( that part you've highlighted is a track rod end mate, you'll get the part number on servicebox or someone else will have it, not sure myself at the minute..

have you not got a gsf car parts near you? for most of that stuff you mentioned there I would probably have went there before peugeot tbh..they do decent quality parts a lot cheaper than the main stealers!

good luck mate and don't give up on it! :D

the rad, get a nissens one, I fitted one on Saturday, £46.50 I think all in incl delivery.

I bought mine online from these people, tried GSF but they 'didn't' know what rad I'd get. Radicool rads!

Just make sure you move the cap you remove for the sensor and place that in the other hole for the alternative position for the sensor, I forgot and couldn't figure out why water kept pouring out of me 'new' rad? Had to remove it all again to see the problem and rectify it!

Have you replaced the BE1 box for a BE3 and the end is wrong for your clutch pedal? Grind the plastic end of the BE3 cable, cut a groove in the BE1 cable end so you can slide it off the cable. Slide it back on the BE3 cable and put a blob of weld on groove to stop it coming off.

Have you tried using a pair of mole grips on the track rod, twisting it then undo the nut? Or try a nut splitter?
