John_205_GTi 0 Posted July 14, 2008 Does anyone know what the correct size of the bolts that hold the caliper onto the trailing arm as the ones i recieved from autofive are very sloppy on the sliders.
mrswampy 0 Posted July 14, 2008 The ones to bolt it to the hub are m12x36 mm with a thread pitch of 1.50 according to service box. i have tried to get hold of some today and cant get any in what id consider a strong enough tensile rateing.
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted July 15, 2008 Looking at your avatar your car appears to be a 1.6GTI not a 1.9 so the ones described above won't be any good to you. The ones you need for Bendix calipers are M12X150-79. They aren't a tight fit through the sliders so you probably have the right ones imo. If you are in doubt they right I can send you one oe bolt to check them against. Graham.
John_205_GTi 0 Posted July 15, 2008 you're right it is a 1.6 but i'm just finishing a disc conversion, the thing is, the sliders fit ok on the standard M12 bolt which i borrowed from work but the ones i ordered the shank has a smaller diameter than the actual thread. What is the thread pitch as i might try to get sorce some from a local supplier?
