jackherer 543 Posted July 13, 2008 Does anyone know if the Peugeot speedo senders are hall effect? I want to use one to drive an aftermarket electronic speedometer and I am having trouble finding any data for it. Does anyone know the pinouts?
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted July 13, 2008 I don't know if they are hall effect but the wires to the plug are; Pn 1; igntion switched live from the double relay. (looks double wired on cars after 06-97 with direct igniton switched live) Pin 2; Earth. Pin 3; ecu / speedo. Graham.
jackherer 543 Posted July 13, 2008 Cheers Graham, I'll give that a go. The speedo has an 8v out to supply power to the hall sensor so I'll put that to pin 1.
jackherer 543 Posted July 23, 2008 That was perfect, worked first time, thanks again Graham. I connected the VSS to the electronic speedo and a bench power supply then spun it with a cordless drill at an indicated 40mph. Now I need to know how many pulses per mile it gives, or at least how many pulses per rotation of the driveshaft although it wont be too hard to work out.
