stuRALLYE 5 Posted July 10, 2008 hi everyone, ive had a quick search on the forum but i was just wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of any information about putting a 2.0 turbo engine from a 406 sri in a 205? general things like whats involved and the things i will need to buy before trying 2 swap the engines and get it all running in a weekend. also if its even worth it? i know the cast block makes it a bit nose heavy in the 205 and there are headgasket issues? cheers guys

Titled- 205 2.0 turbo questions 2007. Im $hit with computers . Running in a weekend? crikey, took me 5 weeks. In my opinion it's worth it. Great fun!!! There are many more on here who will agree. Its ideal as the MI's are rare and expensive now. there are a few items that you need. 306 xsi top engine mount. uprated bush in lower engine mount. Extend the lower fork mount 15 to 20mm to clear the servo. mi16 clutch and flywheel and bolts. 2wd sierra cossie intercooler or similar. Alloy universal boost pipes. i cant really remember every thing. Ive not heard of these engines going through head gaskets yet. As for the weight of the lump ive not really any complains regarding handling or braking. Cheers

Miles 331 1 Cars Posted July 10, 2008 I'd say stick with a 16v or a decent turbo and manifold on the 8v, After the one I've finished even thou with 21bhp and 245lb ft of torque I was disapointed by the lack of top end grunt, Yes stick it in 5th and it's a great car for road use
guffe 2 Posted July 11, 2008 I was disapointed by the lack of top end grunt No wonder with that tiny little thing they put there and presumptuously call it a turbo...
