What Could Be The Cause?

hi people

i've recently fitted another 1.9 engine into my 205 gti.

the engine had had a full rebuild, and has only done about 3.5k miles, 500 miles of that is with me.

i had it rolling roaded at skip browns, and it pulls well. 128bhp at the wheels (fitted with piper 270 cam and pulley)

now the problem i have is that when it revs past 4k rpm, it puffs out a wisp of blue smoke. it is using a little oil

it runs perfect otherwise. it revs freely, has good fuel economy (even with a 1.6 box), and doesn't get hot or use water.

anyone got any ideas please?

ta very much :D

Valve guides maybe :D or badly installed steam seals .. oil can be sucked down past the valve guides/steam seals under presence of high vacuum inside the inlet tract ..

Can you spot any oil puddles inside the inlet manifold , around the Tb butterfly and inside the main Tb to AFM air feed pipe ?

Rgs ! :)
