Ethos 0 Posted July 9, 2008 Hi guys, Alot of the ones I took off were at the end of their life. Service box shows this which shows the couple that go in the front I think.... although no nut the otherside? Peugeot are ordering me a couple parts today, so if any of you can work out what I need it'd be greatly appreciated. I've also completely forgotten how the spring / release works / fits back on so if anyone has a pic of that!!!
welshpug 1,656 Posted July 9, 2008 the nuts are captive ones that sit in the headlamp panel
Ethos 0 Posted July 9, 2008 Ah, yes- I can see them now. So all I need are some bolts to go through The ones that keep the grill on have completely come out. I'm guessing a bolt with washer either side will do the trick though........ Regarding the catch release, anyone have a picture of where the spring goes etc, i'm sure it's very simple but I honestly can't remember!! Also, this slam panel has ruined the loom of my engine bay, horrible beige! Tempted to spray it black or steel grey!
welshpug 1,656 Posted July 9, 2008 Beige is O.E retro coolenss is it the ones that hold the rad in place you mean by springs?
Ethos 0 Posted July 9, 2008 No sorry mate, I meant the actual bonnet release catch! I'm nervous that I'll think I'm done it... shut the bonnet and not be able to open it again
Paintguy 0 Posted July 9, 2008 Leave the grille off until you know the bonnet's working ok. At least you'll have a chance of getting into it if you've got it wrong
Ethos 0 Posted July 9, 2008 Cool, thanks for the tip
johnsimister 10 Posted July 9, 2008 Also, this slam panel has ruined the loom of my engine bay, horrible beige! Tempted to spray it black or steel grey! Spray it satin black as in the early phase one GTIs. The beige/grey always looks a bit unfinished to me.
