driversdomainuk 8 Posted July 9, 2008 Hi Got my MOT this Friday. Have got everthing in order so hopefully should pass. However, I can't get the front bloody washer pump to work, having replaced the pump etc I still cant sort the problem....wipers etc are fine. I know it varies from garage to garage, but do you think most garages would let me off this minor fault? being a competition car and all that (I only do 400 miles a yr!!) cheers
mrswampy 0 Posted July 9, 2008 When u press the button does the motor spin? Have u checkd to see if you have power at the pump? If you have power try makeing a new earth up. if the pump goes but notheing comes out try takeing the pipe off the jet and see if fluid comes out if it does then its the jets at fault if it doesnt then the pipe is blockd replace which is required but yes most places would still fail it. Mine faild on the indicator bulbs not being orange enough.

mrswampy 0 Posted July 9, 2008 Take the plug off then and check for power could be a dirty connection or a bad earth

jord294 92 Posted July 9, 2008 i'd put money on the fault being a bad earth a common problem

mrswampy 0 Posted July 9, 2008 The connector on to the washer pump should have two connections on it useing a test meter one should show power when the washer is activatd the other should be an earth if it is an earth just make up a new cable and link it in to the relevant wire. Make sure the other end goes on a bolt with good clean bare metal under the head
