Heater Motor Leaking

Recommended Posts

fabian

hello was wondering if anyone can help? i've searched the forum and found some usefull info and now having stripped the dash out have found the leak coming through the heater motor. the scuttle pan is solid above it however the water is still getting in even when stationary. water does pool underneath but the drains seem to be clear as it is draining out the arch when sprayed. cheers

could it be the heater matrix leaking into the fan area? definalty worth a check as you have it in bits...

if its not, check around the windscreen to see if there is any sign of rust or leaks...

I had a small leak on the right had side of my windscreen which ran down the trim to the floor, it was weird the route it took.

Cheers tommer I did have a a leaking windscreen aswell but i've had that resealed. I've covered the heater motor intake with a bag and sprayed it and it seems to have stopped, but obviously i can't have it covered whilst in use. Any ideas of what to do ?

Does the scuttle area drain properly? Water should be able to leave freely between the scuttle and the inside of the wings which then runs out at the bottom of the wing where it meets the sill which should also be an open gap.

cheers for the help, Water is draining through the wing and coming out the sill, small pools still form when stationary but not enough to go over the rubber surround for the intake to the heater motor, might just try getting myself a new scuttle pan and hope that stops it.
