jamiej 0 Posted July 4, 2008 I have just got anew numberplate for my birthday, its fairly small, only 6 characters and i am wondering where to mount it. I think its a bit of a shame to break up the red trim on the bumper (where the numberplate currently sits) The number plate is a good 4 inches shorter than the standard size ones (i had it trimmed due to its size) so ... what do you guys recon ... Does anyone have any photos of different number plate locations OR should i just leave it where Peugeot intended (although there is no recess for the number plate). Oh and im talking about the front number plate, just to ease any confusion :P
maturin23 10 Posted July 4, 2008 On my Phase 1.5 there is a recess for the number plate in the bumper. It's a little smaller than the standard UK width - my plate cracked around the screw holes so I trimmed it to fit the recess and it looks fine. The top edge of the plate sits below the red line. Mine is fitted in the recess, I had to trim it a little too but it looks good - would look even better if I had a shorter reg!

number2301 1 1 Cars Posted July 4, 2008 Take off the plate that's on there and you'll see its got a recess under it which makes the plate sit just below the red strip. If it'll fit in there then fine, otherwise I'd just put it over the recess. But won't you have extra holes in the bumper now from where someone fitted it in the wrong place? It doesn't matter what phase it is as far as I can remember, but H will be phase 2 with black trim.
Baz 421 Posted July 4, 2008 H could be either a ph1.5 or 2. And as said you should have the recess for the european sized plates, trim the plate down, leaving at least 11mm around the lettering, and put it in the recess, they look so much better there! http://s49.photobucket.com/albums/f255/205...=G833ABCfns.jpg
