djinuk 2 Posted July 3, 2008 Well im replacing my wishbones and ball joints etc this weekend, just wonering what size the ball joint bolts are , and also what part number they are , as basically if i get time i will pop into peugeot to get the proper ones, but if not would i get away with poping into my local diy store and picking some bolts from there up? On further note i have read to do them up to 35 nm, what torque settings should the wishbones bushes go up to. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Jrod 7 Posted July 3, 2008 Ball joint bolt - 6923 96 =87p each Nut - 3622 30 = 68p each If you don't use the right bolt it won't have the shanked section, this will mean the threads can wear and allow play which will give erratic handling and wear the balljoint out. Word of warning, Peugeot supplied me with the wrong bolt as described above, after making me order in a minimum of 5 and refusing to take them back due to being special order. mrswampy 0 Posted July 3, 2008 Its not that easy just go in to an ironmongers/ supplies shop@ alot of them only stock weaker bolts,well below the 8.8grade pug use and the 10.9 grade id recommend is used the bolts on the suspension get all sorts of forces put on them in all manner of directions so you idealy want to use one of greater if not equal to rateing Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Not realy adding much but i feel a bit better. because pug know they ahve you over a barrel if you nmeed new ones as no where stocks them!! though i can get them. maybe there is no need to go stronger on the bolts but it cant do any harm and i have seen a few 306s where the bolt had ebing slightly bent whilst in situe and caused a right mare to get it out.
