Atari Boy 11 Posted July 2, 2008 The driver’s door on my 205 is causing me problems. Ever since about two weeks ago I have been unable to lock the door from either the inside or the outside of the car. I had bit of poke about inside the door and noticed that the beater had broken and as such the lock didn’t have a connection to the actual mechanism. The locks that came with the car are non OE ‘Solex’ locks. The replacement OE beaters that I bought from Pug don’t tally up with the locks so I have bought replacement ‘standard’ locks from Ebay thinking all will be okay. I have two problems now, the fixing brackets that slide between the lock and the door, securing the lock in place are two small, does this sound possible, are there different sizes for the fixing brackets? Secondly, I am unable to work the lock internally still, what I mean is that I can’t pull or push the lock pin to unlock or lock the door, it seems jammed. Are these common problems and does anyone have any ideas? Thanks Jonny
jord294 92 Posted July 2, 2008 i had this same problem not to long ago after a lot, and i mean a lot of head scratching, it ended up being the actual door handle. even though it felt like the handle on the outside of the door was working, it wasn't returning. try removing the outside door handle and giving it a lot of lube. remember that the handle has to be undone at one point under where you lift it up, and at one point inside the door panel
