Water In The Boot

Probably this threat was here before but I can't find it anywhere.

 

I have a leak in the boot, on the left side under the carpet. I really want to get rid of it. Maybe somebody was doing that before? I assume I need to change boot seal for sure, what else I can do to improve sealing ?

 

There are some small plastic cups in the floor of the boot but some of them are missing ? Anyone know the part number for them ?

If you do a search you will find some good info, I replaced the seal and checked the screw's on the spoiler because they can leak some times allso check the washer head on the tailgate

In the bottom of each corner of the tailgate is a small hole which looks like a drain hole. When closed, they actually sit on the inside of the boot seal for some unknown reason. Mine used to drip water out of these and into the boot, causing the insulation under the boot floor to go soggy. Solved it by re-sealing the roof spoiler and its screws.

 

I think water can also get in from the tail light clusters but not had this problem myself.

on the left hand side..is it behind the vertical carpet?i had a puddle behind here(where the seatbelt reel is nested) and it was caused by the lens.

 

a while back someone shunted me from behind and i didnt notice water getting in until my lens had faded(well..the indicator part PH2)

Thanks for good info, those little holes in the tailgate are ok , they are getting rid off the water really efficient. I have 4 small holes in the boot floor, I was trying to find the part number for those little plugs but I can't track them anywhere.

 

They are made from two pieces, one goes under the boot and one inside.

 

 

Is the the one here ?
