4evernewbie 0 Posted June 30, 2008 Hi-de-ho. I'm just wondering what the offsets are for the 307 HDi and 205 GTi 1.9 brake disks. Thing is (bear with me), I've got a set of Wilwood midilite 4pots which I bought for the XR2. Now I want to put them on the GTi, so after finding the 283mm ford disks to be the wrong offset, I've ordered the 307 HDi 283mm disks. Now, I work away and I took loads of measurements before I left. I've found the difference in offset I need to "adjust" my existing mounting brackets by to get them to match the 205 disks, just wondering if I can go ahead and machine my mounting brackets without worrying I'm gonna FUBAR them. Oh, I'm also gonna change the bolt holes and the distance from the hub doesn't matter because the caliper mounts onto the bracket radially. Many thanks in advance, Paul. 4evernewbie 0 Posted June 30, 2008 Wow, that was quick. Nice one. I didn't understand half of those numbers but I did notice the difference in thickness and I think that'll be too wide for the callipers, let alone the pads. I've already ordered them (d'oh!) but I'll see. I wonder what else could fit. . . .
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted July 1, 2008 I think the important measuremt from the two brake discs I linked to from Brakeparts is the HT measurement which differs only 1mm between them both. Graham.
4evernewbie 0 Posted July 2, 2008 After reading new threads, I think the 306gti6 discs are the ones to have because they're 22mm wide. That means I can fit them into my calipers Luckily, my brother has a 307 (slope the ones I bought onto him) and my mate has a gti6 (so if they don't fit I can slope them too). Thanks for the advice pugtorque.
