Central Locking Reset

Recommended Posts

Tommer

Hi all,

Is there a way of resetting the central locking?

Mine worked (sort of ) before, but then I fitted new lock barrels and the car has been stood since. now that I have connected the battery again, there is no central locking at all, I can lock the doors individuallly but there is no resistance or motor at all, I am unable to lock the boot too.

could it be a fuse or a relay or is there some way of completely resetting it so that it will work again?

cheers in advance.

I don't think the c/l system has any of reset but there is a fuse (#7 20 or 25 amp) alog with a relay on the fusebox. (one of the l/h green ones on the fusebox iirc).

The bootlock can be super stiff or immovable if the c/l motor has seized. Pop the cover off the boot & remove the motor to see if you can unlockthe boot now.

Have you got the right key or have some of the locks been changed before you got the car?

Graham.

you should still be able to lock the boot manually, takes quite a bit of force tho
