Pillar Speakers - Anyones Wired Up?

Recommended Posts

Tommer

Hi Gang,

just removed the rear plastic pillar trim, and discovered some speakers behind them:

Picture one (left)

Picture two (right)

I am guessing these are standard, but mine look as though they have never been wired up, the connector on the wiring to the parcel shelf speakers is different to the seeming factory fitted pillar speakers, plus the wire is too short to reach via any route i can think of...

anyone have them wired up? have my wires just been cut down and had a new connector fitted?

cheers in advance

that's just the std location for the rear speakers. the wiring loom obviously comes from the front and goes under the carpet, making its way back to the c-pillars. they're easy to lose in the c-pillars if you disconect the speakers and accidentally drop the wiring connector; i guess your aux speakers could well be extended from this loom if the original rears aren't connected up - going to have to trace the wiring to be sure though.

Cheers,

I think the previous owner has just moved the wiring to the parcel shelf and shortened them in the mean time....

Originally the rear speaker wires are part of the rear light loom, splitting just before the rear seat IIRC and goes up over the rear wheel arches.
