S13Nick 0 Posted June 29, 2008 right i need your opinion on a gearbox i need to use, i have a 2.0l 8v turbo engine gunna run around 200bhp for around town type roads chasing boy racers and i dont know which gearbox to use.... i have a 1.6 gearbox & 1.9 lift up reverse box.... right so i was thinking use the 1.9 box as longer gears but that means i have to convert to lift up reverse and im struggling to find the bits for the conversion, and im also thinking the 1.6 box the gears being to short and not being able to put any power down, so im confused and don't know what the best thing to do is any info & hints appreciated thanks nick

We have this set up in one of our turbo conversions with the 1.9 5th and it hits the rev limiter in 5th dunno what insane speed thats at but we are going to be fitting the Xsara 5th (.74) to hopefully calm it down a bit Hope that helps Tris.
