smighall 1 Posted June 29, 2008 I'm looking for a new shell to redo my trackcar. It's currently running a GTI6 engine, so which 205 models can i use where i won't have to arse about with engine mounts? Do the lower models just need a gti subframe for the engine to drop in etc? Personally when I reshelled my trackcar I bought a mechanically tired 1600 GTI non sunroof for £300. I'd keep your eye out for a GTI shell. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
taylorspug 7 Posted June 29, 2008 Worth considering a Gentry, ive seen a few about recently cheap as chips and looking in good condition. That's my ideal, i had found one but the seller seems to have vanished now. Tom Fenton 1,541 Posted June 29, 2008 Bear in mind that by selling off all the unwanted stuff there is a couple of hundred quid to be had back, from memory I managed to sell the engine, gearbox, driveshafts, ECU, AFM, K&N kit, rear beam, exhaust system and wheels off the one I bought. DanteICE 72 Posted June 29, 2008 I too have a very good condition shell that I want rid of, its white, no serious rust, unfortunately its a sunroof model, but you can just weld a non-sunroof roof off any other 205 on. Batfink 201 Posted June 30, 2008 I'll chip in as well. My brother has a bare white rallye shell with turrets welded in the rear (had rear beam with a rear coilover conversion). Its a sunroof shell but on the plus side has polycarbonate windows fitted. Bolt in your mechanicals and go.... He'll take £50 for it as thats what someones offered for it as scrap..
