gti-si 0 Posted June 28, 2008 I'm currently renewing the suspension and steering. I've had the subframe powder coated along with the ARB, new droplinks and TRE's etc... But i'm having trouble with the steering rack. I've got some play in the offside track rod. I assume this is the balljoint at the other end. My question is, is this ball joint part of the rod, or the rack itself? How do I remove the track rod and replace? Can't see anyway of doing it? This is only thing i've got left to do with the steering and I should be solid as a rock once done
Duroc 2 1 Cars Posted June 29, 2008 The balljoint is part of the TR, which has an M12 threaded end. A locking washer prevents it from coming undone.
Alan_M 66 1 Cars Posted June 29, 2008 I used some Stilsons (Plumbers Wrench) to remove mine from the rack for a quickrack rebuild.
