ifcho 0 Posted June 27, 2008 Hi, I'm not very sure if they are called front sills...but I guess they should be at least "front something"... However, is there a reason NOT to remove them? I mean this : I want to remove the sections in the red (rot has already tried to do this ) The car is a race car, with a full rollcage inside.
welshpug 1,656 Posted June 27, 2008 they are called the headlamp panel, quite a lot of track and rally cars have holes cut here to aid cooling but I don't know anyone that has dispensed of the panel completely, you'd need something to bolt the ducts to
cybernck 402 1 Cars Posted June 27, 2008 generally, everything in front of turrets and subframe mounting points is not really required in terms of front end stiffness, just put a strutbrace on and it would be great if you could also brace the turrets against the roll cage. i've seen loads of pics of Golf's that have wings, bumper, radiator and headlight mounting points on a tubular section, along with various other coolers etc.
