Why's My Drivers Window Falling Out It's Channel?

Recommended Posts

tonycj

Every time i wind my drivers window up it tilts forward very slightly, so when in the fully up position there is the smallest of gaps at the top rear of the window.

Its driving my crazy having to push the glass to the rear of the car when winding it back up.

Can anyone help with what it might be?

i thought initialy it may be that there was a clamp on the back of the window which ran up and down in the window runner and kept it in place but after comparing it to my other windows it seems the same.

I dont know what to do, as looking at my other windows they all look like they are identical with no more or less parts in the door frame, making up the winder assy.

HELP!!!

Many Thanks,

Tony.

Grim.Badger

Take the door apart and check that the clamp that holds the bottom of the window is still intact as they have a habit of rusting; if the rear of the two clamps is knackered the window will pitch forward.

Is this a convertible or tin-top ? (both in your sig) Convertibles have guides which can be riveted or bolted through the glass at the front edgethese can loosen or detatch

Then go with the Badger! I would arm myself with another window reg. mechanism, too when stripping it down, as it could also be that the plastic rollers have seized and worn a flat on them, causing the drop. If you can go into the job with both a replacement clamp and mech. handy, I'm certain it will be sorted
