djinuk 2 Posted June 25, 2008 Ok, ive brought a set of (good condition) wishbones off ebay fitted with polybushes, however typical of ebay once arrived i found the ball joint boots had splits in both, now the ball joints seem nice and stiff and only movable with a lot of force, or light taps from a hammer, but i was wondering if and where i could sorce replacement boots , or should i glue glue them. Mark80 0 Posted June 29, 2008 (edited) Does anybody know where the best place to get new ball joints is? Just my local automotive parts dealer? I take it the can be purchased seperately and I don't need a whole new wishbone? Also if they were a bit worn and wobbly could this cause the driveshafts to leak transmission fluid where they meet the gearbox or is this just definately replacement oil seals needed? thanks. Alan_M 66 1 Cars Posted June 29, 2008 Nope, if the wishbone balljoint has packed up, then its a new wishbone I'm afraid. Gearbox oil leaking at the box end of the shaft could be a number of things, doubt a rogered balljoint could cause it unless you disturbed it whilst seperating balljoint from hub.
