Oil Filter Hoses

Recommended Posts

v6Max

On my G plated 1.9 the hoses that connect the block to the oil filter head are starting to fail. Turns out Peugeot no longer stock them. Looking at the parts guide it looks as if it would be possible to remove the hoses and plate and actually screw the filter directly onto the block. Is that right?

There is a Hydraquip near to me and they'll take a look and see if they can make the hoses up but this question is a "just in case" because I need the car on the road at the moment.

If this is a 8v then Baker Bushes sell one which is also cheaper and better than the Pug one, Or the 16v one I sell

Thanks Miles but I think we're talking about different ones...

The hoses I'm talking about are the ones that leave the block, pass to the oil heat exchanger and then return.

A hydraulics place should be able to repair the hoses. You'll need to keep the old hose for them so that they can re-use the end fittings to make the new hose, as I believe they are a strange size.

If not then you can screw the filter directly to the block, as it is on the 1.6.

Merlin motorsport can make up any type of hose and correctly swage them. They would needd you to send the hose to them and then get them made up.

The other place to try and will be a lot cheaper would be a local farm machinerery place. They will make up a similar hydralic hose for you and it will be cheap!!!

If you need to remove it for the time whilst it is being repaired, when the filter is removed you will see a nut at the bottom of the thread the filter was attached to, remove this nut and the oil filter will then screw back on directly to the engine. this will at least keep the car mobile whilst the oil hoses are being made up. I think its something like a 22mm socket as I just reconnected mine just yesterday.

I'm having this problem just now on my G plate phase 1.5 1.9 205 gti, the pipes to the oil cooler are leaking. anyone advise the spec so I can get some?

Or do the companies named above know exactly what I'll be looking for?
