Ecu Problems

Recommended Posts

right im workin on a carbed mi16 running 8v jetronic loom and coil dizzy with an adapter, weve now removed the carbs and fitted the mi inlet manifold and 1.9 air flow meter(to run along with the 8v ecu), as all the plugs are the same for the trottle position sensor, ecu temp sensor there all connected. weve got spark still as its running the 8v dizzy and weve got fuel to the rail as its always been run with a switched live to the pump(tachometric relay wasnt plugged in). first problem is that with a working tachometric relay plugged in and the original wiring plugged back onto the fuel pump it doesnt work(relay clicks when ignition switch is turned to position 2 but pump doesnt prime or run when cranking over) second problem is that the injectors dont fire(plugged in injector pulse tester and none of them pulse) also tested the ecu wiring and none of the wires that go to it are live! surely the ecu needs a power so it will work. all fuses are fine and so are relays. any help would be much appreciated.

cheers daz

Pretty sure the power for the ecu is a single red wire that goes into the bottom of the distribution block that bolts to the slam panel.
