Coolant Leak

Earlier today fudge (205 1.6gti 1987) died whilst overtaking a slow moving tractor - there was a bit of a noise then i lost all power. Coasted to a stop and the car would turn over but not start. There was a small trail of coolant following the car but with the engine off there was nothing pouring out even when topped up.

 

Eventually with the aid of some WD40 and a rag i dried out the electrics and got it started again. Once running it started to pee coolant out from somewhere below the dizzy cap.

 

I've had a look but can't quite fathom where its coming from. The water is firing down towards the gearbox and inner wing, from just in front of where the pipe that goes into the cabin joins the system

 

I've tried to take pictures but it's just too tight down there. If someone could get a diagram of that end of the engine i could show you roughly where its coming from.

 

Any ideas of what is up with? if it ain't fixed soon it ain't coming to pugfest!

my guess would be the short rubber 90 degree hose that sits under the dizzy, has split

Having now seen a diagram it does appear to be in the area of that pipe but its so tight and dark down there (just how i like it !) i can't see exactly where its coming from.

I have now removed that battery for slightly better access and it is that pipe that has gone. Any idea of part number/price from pug?

 

It's gone be a swine to fit looking at it!
