Is There A Easier Way Of Removing Bearing Casing

Hello There Just brought a new stub and hub for my xs (scrap Yard) not new...... got some new bearings but i can not get the old races out what is the easiest way beacuse i want to smash it into little bits now B) lol .... Please Let me no as i am doing it now many thanks Johnny

A few years back, when I did my 306 bearings, even a 20 tonne press wouldn't get the outer race out. What we ended up doing was bashing the bearing out until we were left with the outer bearing casing pressed into the hub. Then, run a ring of weld around the inside of the outer race. As the weld contracted it shrunk the bearing with it and it just popped out! Its an alternative method that works rather well! :wacko:

if you are VERY careful, you can grind some slits into the inside of the race, that can loosen them. Worked on my MR2 hub
