Super Josh

Well my phase 1.5 1990 on a 'G' plate has a PU-9469A. Looks very similar to yours, but has an auto-reverse button to the left of the tape slot, where yours has a blanking plug.

Where yours has a tone control, mine has a Bass/Treble control (Pull the knob for treble and push it to engage loudness).

Buttons 3,4,5 in tape mode are APC, metal and Dolby NR.

Maybe yours is from an earlier model? I'm sure we'll be able to build up a picture of which units were fitted to which year after a few replies ;)

The GTI model is the 97001F, easily identifyable by having bass and treble, autoreverse, APC (finds silent pauses / gaps in tapes), MTL and NL on buttons 3,4 &5 respectively.. If it has tone, it's not from a GTI.

I have rigged my unit up to a Clarion CD changer with an FM modulator, so I can still listen to new stuff and my old tapes.

Also, I think I have some spare covers for the sides.
