Turbloide2 0 Posted June 20, 2008 Hi all ive removed my mi16 engine to freshen it up a little ive done the cambelts, waterpump,tensioners,clutch new gear box and other things. But ive just noticed its not running an oil cooler!!!! Do i need one and where does it fit to ? Thanks in advance for any useful info. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
M@tt 77 Posted June 20, 2008 standard mi16 doesn't run one instead it has a water heat excanger set up instead. If you did want to fit one to fit one you you'd need to swap sandwhich plate behind the oil filter for a suitable one and get something like a mocal after market cooler and pipes. tbh i never found the oil temp on my mi16 getting very hot at all. pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted June 21, 2008 You can't get much cheaper than not needing one. Its fine without an oil cooler, if you only use it for road driving then it doesn't need one.
