i need find out what the stock internals can take before i start making it any faster!

 

ported and polished tb is 55quid i dunno what gains this will have though!

Practically none at all Mike!

 

be careful winding any more boost or the Stock ECU will reach its limit (or rather the MAP sensor does) and you'll get boost cut.

well i dunno what else i can really do

 

an intercooler upgrade is a defo! coz mines too small but piping is too tight.

 

was thinking of the megasquirt route see if i can get a few more horses through timing and fueling but megasquirt in my opinion is quite difficult.

 

what other options do i have?

that was my original plan using a 16v head but once i whipped the head off, it didnt have the cut outs in the pistons?

 

this engine was from an xm and i honestly thought it was an rgy, all items ive bought have been rgy including an extra 20quid on the lambda sensor because it was rgy not rgx??

Did you look on the block for the engine code?

Too late now though if your engines in you've got no chance of seeing it ;)

 

XM should be RGY though.

does anyone else with this engine have any wierd problem like mine?

 

it feels like all s*ite is buildin up in the exhaust when ive like e.g going down a hill in 3rd gear with no revs. after doing this it just wont go on boost properly and like kangaroos, if u rev it clear a few times then drive it, its fine????

Just read your post, think im having the same probs perhaps? it could be my turbo i think?

 

have a look at my post in XU general and maintence, sounds similar problem but im getting 0.6 at best and tailing off no matter what i do and also an oil leak!

this engine is a massive learning curve.

 

lots of different probelms.

 

like i said mine is like getting gunjed up in the exhaust and unless you rev it clear it just kangaroos on boost

 

i sorted the boost out the other day and had it spiking just under bar then dropping off to around 0.7

 

ive been told this is the actuator and a cossie one would be better, althought these arent the easiest things to get to.

 

mine also smokes on tickover, sometimes badly sometimes hardly at all, depends on driving style.
