SPGTi 2 Posted June 19, 2008 What is the best / cheapest solution for dealing with worn Mi16 liners ? Is it a choice between new liners or overboring and using custom pistons ? Or can a quick rehone and new rings solve the problem ? If this is possible I suppose it depends on the extent of the wear ? Any solutions / tips appreciated . jonnie205 1 Posted June 19, 2008 if your on a budget glaze bust them, spin them through 180 degrees, fit new rings
SPGTi 2 Posted June 22, 2008 if your on a budget glaze bust them, spin them through 180 degrees, fit new rings Is this a good fix or could I expect problems again a few thousand miles later ? The engine won't do many miles but will be revved hard. cheers Steve
welshpug 1,657 Posted June 22, 2008 depends how worn they are, I would find a replacement set if they're worn badly, or re-bore them and fit larger pistons.
