looks amazing its really made me want to sell the cti and start a little project of my own,

so so the rallye arch extensions fit straight on to gti wings?? does that mean that a euro rallye has a gti shell?

did u have another go at the group a / n graphics?

keep up the good work

Ooo, missed this.

Not keen on the 434's myself, don't really suit the look of the car?

I like the 106 steels but they look lost under the arches, are they the 6J versions?

Thanks! There seems to be a lot of different types of replica Rallye arches out there at the moment, varying in quality, but I imagine they'd fit a GTI shell fine. I'm currently considering swapping the rear arches over, as I'm not that keen on the rivets (I'd rather they matched the style of the front arches).

For that reason, I'm holding back on the full T16 style graphics.

Yeah, I was a bit disappointed with the look of the 434s - maybe they'll look better with the full T16 decals? If not, I'll probably put them up for sale (pity I sprayed them white  )

The 106 wheels were from a series 1 Rallye - 5.5J

As in the ones I mention at the beginning of this topic? I'm not sure. They look similiar (I suppose that's the point!) but are from a different seller.

Now I've decided to run with the C5 Steelies for a while, I thought I'd return to using the original Rallye/base model wheel centre caps. Unfotunately, they no longer fit and it seemed the only real option was to go for the 'boater hat' style Citroen ones. However, I wasn't that happy about the citroen badge in the middle of the cap.

I therefore bought a set of Peugeot centre badges, ground away the citroen logo and replaced them with the pug ones!

If the above reads like an ad, that's because I'm afarid it may be just that! Work is very slow at the moment and I might have to consider selling it if things don't pick up soon.

So the question is, how much is the Rallye worth? I know it's a bit of an odd project when compared to some of the more conventional Mi16s etc, so that obviously reduces the number of potentional buyers. I've never sat down and worked out exactly how much I've spent, but it must be somewhere in the region of £8k... B)

The magazines say £7500 for a mint real rallye. I know someone who has a very good real one on e bay at the moment and i think that has sold at £2.5k.

Cheers Arnold.

Aero catches were painted before being fitted, then sprayed again in situ, together with the bonnet.

Finally got round to a little update...

Didn't get much time to spend on the car over the winter, but the last few weeks have been a little quieter and I've finally got the car looking exactly how I wanted it.

First up, I managed to find a decent GTI rear valance in white, which is now fitted:

Also, after several failed attempts, I've finally got the works decals sorted. I had a local sign writers apply the light blue vinyl to my design.

I also have a new fibre glass tailgate, fully painted, stickered up and ready to fit, but unsure if it's a step too far!

Next up, I may look into a new exhaust :( then put it up for sale... :(

who did the engine?

At the beginning of the thread, there are several links to a separate engine build thread by Sandy. However, I don't think it documents the set-up of the carbs and I think it was a matter of fine-fettling on the day.

Also, to get it past a rather strict MOT tester, it was adjusted again by a more local garage back in November.

I don't remember what we used, but it will be engine specific anyhow.
