First thing.... and I only mention it as ive done it myself before whilst rushing.... is the handbrake off!?!

Does the hub rotate freely? if not, move the adjuster with a thin screwdriver through one of the bolt holes untill it does and try again.

Failing all this your need a hub puller :)

Sometimes they can be stubborn, I've got a hub puller similar to ebay item no 350068862978 that has never failed me.

However something must be very wrong for a new bearing to fail in 100 miles. Did you grease it when you fitted the new one?

i had a bearing seize on the stub axle on my CTI, in the end i had to just use a lump hammer and a drift and proper whack it for ages till eventually the bearing pulled itslef apart and the drum cam off. It left the inner race part of the bearing stuck on the stub axle and i had to get some heat and an angle grinder (carefully) on it to get it off

best of luck

I tried for ages to get one of mine off before and it wouldnt budge. Went to my friends, who removed the hub nut, hit the drum a few times with a hammer, put the wheel back on with 2 wheel nuts and spun it backwards and the damm drum just came off by itself. Apparently this is how he always does it (mechanic by trade).

they can be siezed solid sometimes, like others mention. you can knock the stub axle out though if all else fails...and it should come off.

try everything else though before you do that though...a good slide hammer/ hub puller would work though surely?!
