Ethos 0 Posted June 16, 2008 Hi guys, When swapping out an engine (1.6 to mi16) is it recommend to replace the mounts for an uprated set, or will the original mounts be ok if they are in good condition? Kit; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Peugeot-205-gti-Upra...1QQcmdZViewItem Also was looking at this lower mount, but surely a solid mount will be BAD? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PEUGEOT-205-309-SOLI...1QQcmdZViewItem
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted June 16, 2008 Its up to you really, if the mount are in good condition then there isn't any reason to swap them but with them being a minimum of 14 years old its easier to do when the engine is out. The top item is from stew205 on this forum & you can buy them direct from his website Baker Bushes & Mountings & get a discount from being a member on this forum. Also the upper kit includes an uprated lower engine mount like in your second link (but not solid aluminium) & thats mre than sufficient. Graham.
