Iron Block And Cylinder Wall Distortion

Recommended Posts

Mandic

Hi,

Has anyone tested how much, if any, XU iron block's cylinder walls distort when head it torqued down.

Interested in if one needs to make "torque plate" when boring out the block?

Thanks

Ok up to 87mm basically, after that you need to be very careful.

Have You measured the difference between clamped and unclamped block?

Really interested in this, as don't wanna go through trouble making the torque plate and all that if there is no point, by no point I mean that there is no distortion at all, cos even if it changes by a small amount I'll go and make it. I'll be going to 87mm btw.

Thanks!

Ziga
