Ahl 4 Posted June 11, 2008 Hello all, I have a 1.8 non-turbo XUD, and was wondering if anyone can tell me how the valve clearances are set? (I don't have the XUD Haynes). Do they require shims? Do they just screw adjust? Also, can you tell me the specified valve clearances? Many thanks! Ahl

DamirGTI 342 Posted June 11, 2008 Yes it's like on GTi engines shims under the buckets and identical adjusting system . Inlet - 0.15 (+-0.05) Exhaust - 0.30 (+-0.05) Have fun ! Damir
Ahl 4 Posted June 11, 2008 Thanks folks! Its a bit of a bummer that it uses shims, just makes it a little harder to adjust. I shall crack on with it though! Ahl
