Mi16's Running On 8v Distributors

Recommended Posts

Just wondering what leads you use for this combo because the 8v distributor cap i have has different ends to my Mi16 one?

Vauxhall Corsa Ecotec 1.4/1.6 16v engines seem to use leads with very similar ends, only problem is, these leads are meant for coilpacks so would this cause a problem using them on a distributor?

Cheers

having trouble getting them seating correctly down the plug wells?

luckily halfrauds have the custom leads, measure your lengths, buy the right leads then get the "plug well" adapters that hold the lead.

failing that manicore may do custom jobs at a price.

I have a set of 8v magnecor leads but theres no chance of them fitting down the holes without some serious hacking about, what sort of price do halfords charge for custom leads then?

They're a specifically made lead i always thought, although you probably can find something somewhere that's similar.

I happen to have a set that i'm not using though Alex, Pm me if interested. :)

PR Developments make up a set of leads for this conversion, good quality and the chap that runs the business is second to none.

Problem all sorted now, used the set of 8v leads i had, stripped off the spark plug ends and then mated on the ones from the 16v set, Didn't cost me a thing apart from about an hour or so to do it properly
