davepug205 7 Posted June 10, 2008 Hi all, I want to get my front hubs powder coated along with everything else but I'm abit confused Do I powder coat them then change the bearings, but I dint wont to chip the powder coat when changing. or Do I put new bearings in first, will they be OK with sandblasting. or Do I leave the bearings out, but then i will have to cover up the surface where the bearings go. I know a few people on here have done it before so any helps appreciated. Thanks Dave
swordfish210 20 Posted June 11, 2008 Remove the old bearings, tape up the inside very very well, then get them blasted and powdercoated

swordfish210 20 Posted June 11, 2008 I wouldnt recomend refitting a wheel bearing with a hammer, as mentioned take it to somewhere with a press and get them to do it for you. The powder coating is pertty hard so you dont have to be massivly careful.
