Eccentric Top Mount Noobie Questions

Recommended Posts

Bought some eccentric top mounts and coil overs and fitting them didnt worry me in the slightest...... Untill I saw this the other day in the tea room at work :

Those top mounts (very simular to mine) have been fitted on top of the shock tower. I thought they go underneath!?! it strikes me as incredibly dogey them being ontop as all the force of the suspension would be trying to pop them off of their mounting points surely? Im not explaining myself so I will ms paint a picture

Anyways has that chap with the fezza performed some sort of unusual modifaction (apart from 617 horses in a fezza!) or are eccentric top mounts surpost to be mounted like this?

Also the eccentric top mounts are a complete replacement for the standard units arnt they? I dont need the old ones or any part of them if using eccentric jobbies right?

That mag feature has made me doubt my plans...

We have my mates 205 done like that. Built a thick aluminium spacer and mounted them up top. Gives loads more travel, and makes changing springs easy from up top.

i've been wondering if this type of mounting is possible to get a bit more travel out of the suspension. good to know it is. now where's that alloy stock...

Do you not have any issues with it clearing the bonnet?

Have two very nice reverse vents over them, used to run two circle holes cut in the bonnet

They are con-centric top mounts.

The spring pan would get in the way when I looked it, with concentrics (like the picture) then yeah totally fine

Just get some adjustable bottom arms to move the camber, but you can't do much about the caster that's all.
