petesy71 0 Posted June 4, 2008 hi, this is probably a daft one, but i have a pair of wishbones with good ball joints, but the rubber boots are slightly split. has anyone tried to repair these with silicone or even bicycle puncture repair kits, or as stated, is this just daft?, thanks, pete. saveloy 8 Posted June 5, 2008 Depending on the severity of the split, I have always used super glue with success.
Fox 3 Posted June 5, 2008 I bought a pair of ebay, they are fantastic, better than paying £100 for a pair of new arms! You just have to carefully undo the wire that holds them on and swap. I packed it out first with some moly grease
petesy71 0 Posted June 5, 2008 thanks fox, i'm going to try to get my hands on some before tuesday, i've to get the car ready for mot. saveloy, thanks for the advice, the splits arent too bad. if it comes to the bit i'll give the superglue a try, cheers, pete. petesy71 0 Posted June 8, 2008 i ended up buying these generic items mentioned by sonofsam, ebay link(item no. 130228931746). they seem to be a good fit, they sit slightly higher than the original items but this shouldnt be a problem. (oe on the left). i really have to commend the guy as i told him i was in a rush when i ordered them on thursday and they were here on saturday morning. cheers, pete.
