SPGTi 2 Posted June 4, 2008 Looking through sevice box I noticed that std replacement torsion bars are relatively cheap. 205 GTi 18.9mm are £79 each (inc vat) Interestingly they also list 5150 62 @ £72 (inc vat) which is a 21mm bar for the van. This is the right hand bar and there is no part number for a left hand bar What is the difference between a left and right hand bar ?? I presume there is a difference as in every other case a left and right bar are listed with different part numbers. Also anyone know what the length / spline count is for a Partner van torsion bar as they list a 20.5mm bar and a 21.3mm bar (left and right) for £65 each (inc vat). Also available are 21mm ARB for £57 (inc vat). Sorry if this has been covered before but I have searched and just got a bit excited that the genuine Pug parts might be available, cheaper, better quality (??) than what is available from aftermarket suppliers. Steve The 205 Van 21mm bars are discontinued, Service box is out of date, it gets updated less frequently than the dealers database. The partner van torsion bar is interesting, I remember seeing a 205 for sale which advertised as having these fitted, worth looking into!
welshpug 1,657 Posted June 4, 2008 Partner torsion bars fit the 405 beams and also the 309 beams, 30 splines one end 32 the other (same as any other PSA torsion bar IIRC)
Baz 421 Posted June 4, 2008 How big are Partner bars then?
welshpug 1,657 Posted June 4, 2008 (edited) Up to 21.3mm as quoted above unsure if the Anti roll bar will fit as its externally mounted, but still splined. Found this interesting info on 405mi16.com and confirmed it on Servicebox. Edited June 4, 2008 by welshpug
kyepan 291 Posted June 5, 2008 so does that mean we can get 205 beam bars at 21.5 mm from pug?
