1.9 Oil Pick Up - Cleaning It Out

I've read a topic on this in the past but cannot find it now.

 

How do you clean the filter / gauze in the oil pickup on a 1.9 engine. It looks like the bottom face is held on by tabs prssed over the top body of the pickup, do i just bend the tabs over and brop the bottom face plate off (the face with the hole in it where the oil is sticked through).

Thats all I did a couple of weeks ago, just carefully moved the tabs out and it comes apart, glad I did as there were lots of clumps of clogged up wire wool type material that falls off over time from the oil filler cap down into the sump and get sucked into the filter
