timmsy19 3 Posted June 1, 2008 Hi all Having a bit of an issue with the fuel pump on my mi16 When the previous owner did the engine conversion he put a perminant live from the fuel pump relay to the battery so it would always start. Thing is i had to connect this everytime i wanted to use the car. Ive removed that thinking it had something to do with the imobiliser and just rewired the cable from the ECU to the relay so it by passes the imobiliser (orange cable no: 20c) Well even after doing that there is no power going the the fuel pump when i start the engine however if i put a wire between the battery and relay it works :s Anyone have any idea what could be happening? lee-bg 0 Posted June 2, 2008 Motronic or Jetronic is the Mi16 ? Usually the ECU supplies/energises the relay. Check if corresponding ecu pin goes to corresponding relay. I have to check the diagrams to be 100% accurate if you tell me what Mi16 ecu you got.
timmsy19 3 Posted June 3, 2008 its motronic 3 row ECU. think ive sorted the issue now. wire 20c was connected through the imob so by passed that and also the fuel pump wasnt getting a switched live so sorted that
