djinuk 2 Posted May 31, 2008 Ok, i have fitted a new clutch cable to my 205 8v, when doing this i removed the pedal and had to put the spring back on , i have now got the new cable on , however, when i set it so that the clutch bites around the middle of pedal travel the clutch pedal sits about a inch higher than the rest of my pedals. have i some how over tensioned the spring that springs the pedal, is there any particular way of fitting it. Or is the problem else where. If i set the pedal all level my clutch is literally on the last mm or so of travel meaning i have to push my pedal through the floor to change gear, and grind gears easy. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Pob 1 Posted May 31, 2008 Sounds right to me! The pedal always sits higher, even on a new clutch adjusted so the bite is about the middle, it sits about 5cm higher than the brake pedal. Dan

welshpug 1,666 Posted June 1, 2008 IIRC the clutch pedal should have a stroke of 200mm in a 205 with a BE gearbox.
