philfingers 5 Posted May 29, 2008 Alloy Mi16. Anyone know the thread in the block for the oil pressure sender. I want to fit an aftermarket gauge and need to know thread. My Gauge has a BSP thread. Where's the best place for an adaptor? Thanks, Phil
philfingers 5 Posted May 29, 2008 someone must know!
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted May 29, 2008 Using a non to scientific method I think its M10 x 1mm pitch, same as the brake unions. Graham.
Tom Fenton 1,542 Posted May 29, 2008 I also think its 10x1. 1/8 BSP also screws in loosely but isn't correct.
welshpug 1,657 Posted May 29, 2008 (edited) that's what servicebox says for all the alloy blocks (XU5 7 and 9, 8 and 16v), Sender is M10x1.5, switch is M16 x 1.5 Edited May 29, 2008 by welshpug
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted June 1, 2008 I think its a finer thread than M10 x 1.5, brake unions are M10 x1mm & it threaded perfectly into the caliper which if it was M10 x 1.5mm it wouldn't do. Graham.
philfingers 5 Posted June 2, 2008 Aye it is M10x1.0 All I need now is an M10x1.0 to 1/8 BSP adaptor, Any ideas?
Tom Fenton 1,542 Posted June 2, 2008 Try Merlin Motorsport, they've got a good range of stuff like this.
VisaGTi16v 1 Posted June 2, 2008 Matt Lewis racing on ebay is where I got my t piece adapter and standalone switch. There is a thread somewhere on here with a photo and I cannot find it! Reason is that the thread started needed one like in the link below but my one was a much smaller thread, can only presume because I used the oil pressure sensor hole and he used the switch hole and they are different sizes?! Either way, if you know what you want this bloke should be able to sort you out Matt Lewis Racing Ebay Shop
