Source For Crank Oil Seals

Recommended Posts

Tom Fenton

I'm after both the oil seals for the ends of the crank. Peugeot want nearly £30 for two seals which the adoptive Yorkshireman in me has baulked at.

Anyone know a source of decent quality seals for less than this, or is it simply a case of bite the bullet??

Cheers

I stick with genuine, sealing issues with the pattern ones have plagued several engines I've been involved with.

I got Corteco ones from GSF and had no problems, same brand as the Driveshaft seals that are the same as peugeot ones.

The crank seal's from GSF have now changed to another brand but they look basically the same seal just in another box, The Driveshaft seals thou are poor and leak,

I know about some of the aftermarket seal's as Sandy's said, But the bonus I had he supplied it.

seems pot luck, I know what Miles means about the shaft seals, but the last set I replaced where the ones with the plastic protector part like o.e ones.

The OE one's don;t have a plastic ring anymore, It's a much thicker seal with more of a hard card edge which protect's the seal which get's pressed in with the shaft,

Another vote here for GSF - I used them for both my crank seals and no probs at all....
