Flix 0 Posted May 26, 2008 Fitted 309 wishbones yesterday and new TRE's. I roughly set the toe using a length of wire rod before I have it set at a garage. I'm concerned that there doesn't seem to be much of the TRE's thread engaged into the steering shaft. Is it safe, or do I really need a 309 steering rack or arms. Thanks for any advice. base-1 17 Posted May 26, 2008 Like Anthony says it should be fine - but if you are going to drive it to a garage then screw the toe settings and just make sure there is enough thread angaged to be safe. You can always pause every half mile or something to give the tyres a rest if they're toe'd out a long way Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Paintguy 0 Posted May 26, 2008 I'm pretty sure that the 205 and 309 run the same rod ends (as do a few other PSA cars). I certainly never changed mine when I fitted 309 lower arms, and I was more than happy with the amount of thread left. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
