welshpug 1,666 Posted May 25, 2008 doesn't matter which engine is fitted, what gearbox and age of car is it?
Arahan 4 Posted May 25, 2008 I've only changed BE3 cables, with reverse under 5th, and its only a few steps! I did it by attatching it to the back of the clutch pedal 1st, then routed it round to the gearbox mount, then finally into the arm! Then just adjust it by tightening or loosening the nut at the end for the pedal height!
Phil H 16 Posted May 25, 2008 ...it's a pig to get the gommet into the hole under the master cylinder, so connect it up to both ends and press the pedal down and through she pops.
pug_ham 245 3 Cars Posted May 25, 2008 what gearbox and age of car is it? Not that difficult to work out, especially when you have pretty much the same car. Its a 2.0l Mi 405 so 93 onwards which should have a Be3 gearbox fitted. Changing a 405 Be3 clutch cable isn't much different to a Be3 one on a 205, your working on your head in the drivers footwell to unclip the remains & clip the new cable end onto the pedal & then the gearbox end is easy once you've got access to it by removing the associated airbox pipework so you can see the gearbox lever where the cable hooks into & adjusts.
