Rom 0 Posted May 25, 2008 Im pretty sure this has never been plugged in, i dont remember unpluging it, and theres nothing it reaches i can think off Its in the 205 loom, breaks off just before the NS headlamp / fog wiring etc. Has the black protective sheath round it. I thought maybe the original horn, as mine doesnt have it, but my horn works, and normally there only 1 wire. Im juts curious really, want to be certain i can tuck it away and not worry about it
vern 0 Posted May 25, 2008 On my diesel I had a red plug that looked the same, as the one in your picture and in about the same place, and it was the rad fan supply.

vern 0 Posted May 25, 2008 thinking about it I think it was something to do with the twin fan setup for my diesel, it supplied the relays etc that does the high low switching.
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted May 25, 2008 Just a spare on the GTi, never seen them plugged to anything on any of mine anyway. You can tell by the condition of the terminals its never been used on the car since being built. Graham.

Quite often in documentation I've seen a second position for the diagnostic socket, could it be that??

pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted May 25, 2008 Quite often in documentation I've seen a second position for the diagnostic socket, could it be that?? Any 205 GTi which is running Jetronic management won't have a diagnostic socket built in, only the later CAT equipped ones on Bosch Motronic M1.3 have & thats normally either a green or black two pin plug.
