Guest Modman08 Posted May 24, 2008 Hi all - My first post, so here goes. Doing some work on my 1.9 today, swapped out the brakes and changed over the droplinks on both sides. Noticed that the links were pretty old and knackered and had actually fouled on the suspension bolt because the last owner had fitted it wrong way round. Both bars were a little bent with bad joints so definately needed swapping. However my new ones are the biggest my local motor factor said they did @ 12mm diameter, yet the damaged ones I removed were much larger , easily closer to 16mm. Both are exact except for this diameter - length is fine, thread and nut sizes etc etc. Id just like to know what exactly should be on there? because if the larger ones were bent, then who knows what might happen to these. Could my originals be uprated ones, or do they even do these? Any help appreciated, as they are fitted now, but Id certainly swap them out for proper/heavy duty ones. The differnece being that they are hollow compared to the ones that you got recently being a solid bar, yes? I got new droplinks a few weeks from GSF ago and this was the case.
