The next weight reduction for the rallycar is the front driver and passenger windows. has anyone done a guide , or does anyone have any photos

i was after some fitting tips

My way of thinking was to use base model rubbers on the rear windows, they fit really easily with a little fairy washing up liquid.

The fronts would remove everything that is part of the window mechanism and then fill the window channels with some glue or sealant, something sticky !! , then ram the new plastic window home into the sticky stuff, and screw the lower section to the remaining door frame.

 

When I get round to fitting my windows I will try and do an article for the main 205drivers web site. I have used lots of the articles on there and found them useful.

A jigsaw with a wood blade will cut 4mm polycarb like paper, then tidy up with a fine-ish file.

 

You could have it done in 30 minutes.

 

Old windows out, draw around them, cut out with jigsaw, push them into the seals, drill and bolt through the runners.

I've also done it like this, just to add, a small carpenters block plane also makes a nice job of tidying the sawn edges.
