Injector Spray Patterns 16v

My Mi16 track car has 295cc injectors in a 4 nozzle spray pattern. TBH, I never gave much thought to the nozzle spray pattern when I brought them, being more interested in the flow rate, but this got me thinking recently about why different spray types exist.

 

The 1.9 litre Mi std. injectors are a 2 nozzle spray IIRC. (I lent my only set to a mate & haven't seen him or the injectors since-lol).

 

Does the injector position determine if a differing spray pattern is necessary?

 

What nozzle types have proven to be better with the MI engine? Do people use different (spray) types depending on the position from the head (ie:std) or further along the inlet tract (like Jenveys)? I hear Bosch injectors are a preferred fav with fairly serious upgrades (quad bodies, increased CR & programmable management)-what spray pattern are they? (my injectors are still in the std. position).

1.9 Mi16 injectors are the same as 1.9 8v injectors, they have a single nozzle. GTI6 injectors are twin nozzle.

OK. Assuming that between the XU9 & XU10 cyl. head development PSA discovered an advantage in sending a dual fuel supply to each of the cylinder ports (siamesed ports + 2 nozzles).

 

The problem I have in accepting that the 4 nozzle spray is a further advantage is that depending on the injectors rotational position, (you can have one (1) nozzle pointing directly upstream to the air flow, or two (2) nozzles spraying against the inlet tract wall (maybe this helps atomise the fuel particles?).

 

Is this only Touring Cars stuff, or can it relate to lesser modified Mi's?

Pico injectors are shorter though so require some mods to fuel rail mounts.

Question, are the injectors out of a mi16 high or low impendance? might be high, as they have 16 ohm ?!

I need new ones cause mine are crap

Would injectors with 14,2 ohms match to the std ecu of my mi16?

Cause it´s diff to find new ones with 16 ohms , but a lot with 14,2 ohms

The current will increase 12.6%. I'd live with that. Not nearly as bad as choosing low impedance injectors, where a change from say 5 to 4 ohms gives a 25% increase.

So wich from those 3 types of injector in my last post should i take?? Wich wil match best to my mi16?

I decided to buy a new set of four injector with Bosch Part # 0 280 150 947 ,225 cc high impendance 11 - 18 ohms

These are 4 way spray injectors

 

What you think, this should fit my mi16 engine?!
